Over the storm,
Under the canopy over the earth,
That they call the ‘atmosphere’.
Surrounded,
Held up.
Riding an invisible track,
Air currents,
Under,
Over,
Racing alongside.
Heart thudding.
Gut clenching.
Opened can of coke, untouched.
Riding on trust and faith,
Please don’t let us fall down.
And the stunning beauty of the earth from the sky
Overshadowing fear.
Wonderful, Lenora. I love all the angst (which I share) and the lovely line at the end. 🙂

Thank you, Diana. I didn’t know you had a fear of flying?

I call all my family members to tell them I love them before I get on a plane. I’d much rather drive. 🙂

Statistically driving is less safe, but I fully understand this, I do it too! I think statistics mean nothing when you think that in a plane crash, there is less chance of survival than in a car crash, and far more fatalities, never mind plane crashes happen less often 🙂

We think alike, Lenora! I fly probably 6 times a year and haven’t crashed yet. 😀

Love your opening description of the setting! Safe travels.

Thank you, Frank. Our pilot had to accelerate through the stormy bit whilst we were tossed around in the turbulence! It was so strange to emerge from the storm and into another plane of calm skies and soft cloud!

Cheers to skilled pilots. Did you see the recent landing by the pilot in the Strasburg Austria?

I did not! I shall look it up, though 🙂
